Nationality

            As mentioned earlier, candidates bearing Pakistani nationality are eligible to apply for Pakistan Army. Therefore, Pakistani patriots from every nook and corner of the country, holding any domicile are eligible to apply.

Marital Status

  • Male candidates who want to apply for Pakistan must be unmarried.
  • Whereas, female candidates applying for the post of Armed Forces Nursing Services (AFNC) B.Sc. Nursing must be unmarried, either widowed separated or divorced without encumbrances.
  • Female candidates applying for the post of Armed Forces Nursing Services (AFNC) Trained Nurse as Lieutenant may be married or unmarried.

Physical Standards

  • For males, the minimum required height is 5 ft. 4 inches (162.5 centimeters).
  • For females, the minimum required height is 5 ft. (152 centimeters).
  • The weight for both males and females must be according to the Body Mass Index (BMI).

Ineligibility Conditions

            The following conditions make a candidate ineligible for selection in Pakistan Army, so these must be essentially known:

  • Candidates twice mentioned as “Not Recommended by ISSB/GHQ Selection Board (review Committee)”.
  • Candidates that have been declared medically unfit by Medical or Appeal Medical Board, Military Hospital MH or CMH.
  • Candidates that have been dismissed or have once withdrawn from any of the Armed Forces or Government Job during training or duty for misconduct, character, immoral activity, inefficient profile or unsuitability.
  • The candidate that has been convicted by the court of law for any moral turpitude.

Testing and Selection Procedure

Everyone is well known of the fact that selection procedures in Pakistan Army are not as easy as the other jobs. The candidates are made to undergo multiple tough testing procedures and a number of interviews before the final selection for Pakistan Army is done.

The following tests and interviews are taken/done including:

  • Written Test (Academic Qualification based)
  • Intelligence Test
  • Psychologic Test
  • Physical Test (Running test by 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) long run in 8 1/2 minutes, 15 pushups and sit-ups in 2 minutes, 3 chin-ups in 2 minutes, ditch crossing, etc.)
  • Medical Test
  • Interviews
